Post subject: ATTN: Members - Word Censor List Updated! Please Read!

Hell has been removed from the censored word list.

Reason #1
Hell and Hades are the same term, and indeed considered the same place. Someone could just as easily say "Go to Hades", as to say "Go to Hell", and to me it would be the same thing. It's still rude, and it's still not allowed. Anyone caught using the word in this context will be banned for a 24 hour period, no questions asked, no warning placed.

Reason #2
I've seen that the members here can be responsible, and are using the term in it's proper context. They are speaking about the place as it is described in religious texts. As long as the word is used in this context I see no problem with it.

Reason #3
I am the Nymph. Wink

My appologies to Brayen or anyone else who may be offended by this decision, but I think that even 4 year olds have heard the word Hell, while sitting in a pew at church. No one quibbles about it's usage there, because it is in the proper context.

Looks like you won that argument... I wonder if Brayen will still try to fight you on this?

Brayen and I never fight about anything. We merely differ on the fine points. Sometimes I get what I want, sometimes he gets what he wants. It's called compromise. Smile It's also called FRIENDSHIP. We are good friends. I do my best to keep it that way, and so does he.

Sometimes though we differ on some things. We've agreed to disagree on lots of stuff. It doesn't make our relationship more strained, it makes it better. I know he loves and cares about me despite the fact that I don't agree with him, and I am fairly sure he knows that I love and care about him even though he doesn't always agree with me. Happy

If it weren't that way, he likely wouldn't be the Godfather to my three children. He wouldn't have said yes and taken the responsibility if he didn't love and trust us. I wouldn't have asked him to take the responsibility if I didn't love and trust him. As it stands if something were to happen to Corwyn or I, Brayen knows that it is he who will have the responsibility of raising my children.

Wink I could guess you two are close from your posts, but whenever I get into a fight with my friends, the loser will banter the winner to to and get the winner to give in anyways. It's pretty fun, actually Smile .

Actually I am ok with this as long as everyone follows the guidelines TreeSprite set forward in her first post. I'm really pretty easy going, though I do enjoy a good debate from time to time. But as TreeSprite also said I am willing to compromise as long as I don't have to compromise my principles to do it. Besides there are so many other fun ways to pester TreeSprite. Wink

Let's so if I've got this right...
It's ok to use the H-Word in a biblical sense but not in cursing someone. Fair enough.

I don't agree that the places you mention in #1 one are the same thing... Really Tartarus would be a more correct match. Hades was a god and the name of the whole underworld, but that's nitpicking things... Smile Really the only reason you need to do anything here is the fact that you own this forum.

I agree with TC about the two not being identical.
(See my post in the other topic) but they can be used to the same effect in a sentance.

Personally i agree with the change, it makes discussions about religion and stuff easier and since everyone avoids words that are censored it doesnt change anything in that sense.
Hopefully though it will continue to be kept in context.

Sounds fair enough, anyhow, there's lots of ways to tell someone to.. Not go to heaven Wink And I agree that everyone here is responsible enough to have the word floating around maturely.. Ya, I thought Hades was the god of the underworld as well, but oh well, we get the point.
